We have looked over different historical recognition about history textbook of elementary school, specially, about a different historical point of view, and a different way of description. We certainly know through this process that both sides - South and North - made "the different history" not "the same one", even if they had shared similar historical background. Similarly, in the process of analyzing the both textbooks, we know that they are very alike things which make people render devoted service to each country without reasons.
As I mentioned before, there are some reasons why they both are special concerned with history education. First, modernizing of Korea had no possibility to have meaningful experience about nationalism, and there only exist anti-Japan nationalism in the process of failed modem age. In addition, after the liberation from Japan, separation of South and North Korea, Cold War structure, and uneasy relationship of Japan is to make difficult real reflection about nationalism. In this situation, history education was in a direction of putting distorted facts by Japan right and of teaching positive history with anti-colonial historical point of view. However, these history education become a obstacle of making unified history text-book.
Consequently, to build reunification-oriented history, historical school of South and North Korea need to take the leader to make history education healthy. That is the way of first walking that sets history right of present and future. To make come true, most of all, we must disjoint the old discourses, and develop "making new history movements". "making new history movements" is to gather discovery and reflection, beyond just nation- South and North Korea-and people, in the context of their own life.
