Report Errors
This study investigated media literacy curriculum as an emerging curriculum. Generally media literacy is defined as a skill to analyze and evaluate messages critically which are delivered through mass media such as news papers and television. However, media literacy education is in its infancy in the field of education, especially in curriculum. Traditionally critical thinking skills are major goals of social studies education to cultivate democratic citizens in our society. Previous studies suggest that social studies education teach media literacy to achieve those goals. Thus, this study introduced the possible content of media literacy education and specific materials and teaching methods.
