The present study was to investigate the adult's perception for early childhood education. Subjects for this study were 512 adult's of kindergarten located in Seoul and Kyunggi-do. 10-item questionnaire used in this study was constructed by the researcher and then its content validity was confirmed by two experts. Collected data were analyzed by frequencies and percentiles of each item, and by χ²tests to verify the differences of adult's perception according to age.
The major findings were the most adults showed different perception of early childhood education: the target ages, the purpose, the method, the man in charge, the educational system, and publicness. And they understood the parent took the responsibility for early childhood education. According to ages, thirties were kept the most information and source but they had a wrong understanding about the purpose of early childhood education.
