The fact that an idea of 'Dangoon Myth' is 'the Greatly Profitable Man(human being)' is definitely represented in the contents of the myth. But Dangoon Myth does not tell us what kind of a world the greatly profitable human being is. There are only mythological narratives that Hoanung(heaven]y god) carne down the world of mortals, gave birth to Dangoon(king), and Dangoon founded a nation, Gochos6n. The very process of his founding Gochos6n is a concrete idea that he intended to realize the greatly profitable human being. So, I think that narratives of Dangoon Myth represent explicitly an idea of the greatly profitable human being. I win grasp an idea inherent in Dangoon Myth from the ecological point of view. Dangoon Myth develops from the narratives among gods, mankind, and animals on the stage caJled as Sinuansu in Mt Taebaek. The advent of Dangoon, the founder of Gochoson, is realized between god and animals, and heaven and earth. The myth has a humanistic nature that both god and animals have a yearning for human being. However, Dangoon Myth has it that Usa( rain-controling deity), Unsa( eloud-controling deity) and Pungbaek(wind-controling deity) who take charge of weather conditions appear III the process of rule of Hoanung, a bear transfonns herself into woman just after as passing the rite eating wormwoods and garlics in a cave, she and Hoanung meet under a tree called as Sindansu, and at last they give birth to Dangoon. Therefore, the ideal world of mortals inherent in Dangoon Myth is based upon the principle of three essential elements of heaven, earth, and human being, as well as the thought that the heaven is just a father of human beings and the earth is a mother of them. Namely, it is the thought or principle that human being is conceived by the mystical meetings of heaven and earth, and god and animal on the stage of mountains and woods. In the process of the birth of Dangoon as the subject of mythology, the heavenly god is humanized and an animal transfonns herself into human being, while Dangoon as human being begins his life as 'mountain god' anew after his death. God, human being, and animal do not exist absolutely, or the only one of them does not hold the superiority over the others, but ontologically they have a circular relation to one another because they are
relative beings who both of god and animal can be humanized and human being can be divinized. Therefore, the greatly profitable mankind represented in Dangoon Myth is not an idea to give welfare to only human beings by means of nature, but an idea to make the world of mortals very well by forming an ecological world that human being and nature have a symbiotic and circular relationship.
