It is purpose that study Baek gi man's poetry of a literary coterie 'Gum Sung'. It is the reason that I study. 'Gum Sung' is constitute an important grouping of a literary coterie in accepting a western symbolical poetry.
In accepting a western symbolical poetry in 1920, they deal with being not yet reached the difference with regard to the origin. I consider the difference not being behind but a peculiar discourse. This is not superiority but difference between western and Korean literary. So, I clarify the difference that a peculiar poetry discourse of Baek Gi Man.
The result of the study is as follows. Baek Gi Man's poetry is several class symbolism, anarchism and Confucianism and so on. The symbolical poetry is the transcendency in reality, anarchism is a main principles of conscience. It is the Confucian discourse that decide for two discourses collectively. So, his symbolic poetry is matching the meaning the Confucian discourse. This point, a Korean symbolical poetry in 1920 is not equal to a western. It is a peculiar system in a Korean symbolical poetry. This study clarifies the Confucian system that can not clear in western symbolical poetry.
