Han-thought is recorded in the book of Handangokie editored by Kyeu, Yeun-soo. The concept of 'Han' in the Han-thought stands for 'Ha-neul' which means 'heaven' in English.
According to Handangokie, Korea has the oldest history in the world - about ten thousand years. The first founder of Korea was a saint who was called 'Han-in' which means the lord of heaven because he mastered the law of heaven, that is, the truth of cosmos itself. He, also, had the power of controlling and leading all living things on earth. He handed down his truth of heaven to his successors and his successors also handed down the truth of heaven to their successors. In this way, the truth of heaven has been handed down to the Koreans of today.
The truth of heaven is believed to have been the fountainhead of all religions and thoughts in the world. Therefore, we Koreans are all descendants of Heaven because we all have the seeds of heaven in ourselves.
In Cheonbookyung, out of the seed of heaven all beings have come and the heaven is the hometown all beings are to return to.
In Samilsingo, the seed of heaven is located in our head itself. If we keep concentrating all our consciousness and thought on this seed for a long time, we can finally see the original face of this seed and realize the law of heaven and then truth of cosmos itself.
In Chamjeongyekyung, the way of sprouting the seed is explained as follows;
First, develop sincerity. Second, develop faith. Third, develop love. Fourth, develop salvation.
Han-thought having these Characteristics will help to amend the defect of modern trend of Educational Philosopy which focuses on the analysis of concepts and theory for theory's sake.
