From the morphological viewpoint. there are two basic issues. the initiators of cultural actions and their cultural norms. in interpreting the creation and transformation processes of urban form from the perspective of cultural contexts. Especially. the dead-end paths show very distinctive morphological features connected with cultural contexts.
Genetically the dead-end paths can be defined as the products of modernism. in which traditional common life style in outdoor space and new modern private land ownership are mixed together. In view of the initiators. the residents. particularly the landowners. are the main actors of morphological processes of dead-end paths. And the direction of access to dwelling units is one of the main cultural norms that is connected with the morphological characteristics of dead-end paths in the study area. It has a great influence on the transformation of the alignments and their consequent variety of forms.
