The purpose of this study was to investigate what attitude toward physical activity and general motor ability in elementary school students have affirmative and maintain their interest in physical activities and help them lead a cheerful school life.
Surveyed group were divided into school sports, movement education, and club sports participation.
A questionnaire developed by Schutz, Small, Carre and Mosher(1985) on the CATPA(children's attitudes toward physical activity inventory) inventory was used for this study.
The following conclusions were drawn :
1. The movement education and club sports show affirmative toward physical activity in attitude for healthy body and fitness development better than that of group with school physical education participation .. There was a result of among the groups significant difference in the F(2, 142) = 4.616, p<.05.
2. The movement education and club sports show affirmative toward physical activity in attitude for social development better than that of group with school physical education participation. There was a result of among the groups significant difference in the F(2, 142)=6.813, p<.001.
3. The movement education, club sports, and school physical education show not toward physical activity in attitude for continual social relation.
4. In result of the general motor ability, the 60rn running showed significant difference in the F(2, 142)=3.989, p<.05. The 400m running showed significant difference in the F(2,142)=3.092, p<.05, but that sit-up and flexibility showed not significant difference.
