A Korean old novel Soksassinamj?nggi, is a Sequel to Sassinamj?unggi that was written by Kim Man-jung and its original name is Songnamj?nggi. It seems that this work was written by someone in the middle of eighteen century or just before that time.
The structure of this work is similar to that of Sassinamj?unggi in basic frame and is different from the structure of this work in the concrete features. There are two themes in this work. The one is the theme that assert the importance of virtue in the outer layer of work, The other the theme that assert the importance of wisdom in the deep layer of work, Those two themes are similar to that of Sassinamj?nggi.
But in this work the author endowed strong ideality the outer layer of work and made narrow the range of thematic consciousness. Then the literary value of work was to some degree reduced, While on the other, the theme in he deep layer of work is brought into relief comparatively, and the literary value of that part is very elevated.
And there is realism as a distinctive trend of literature in certain part of this work. This work inherited realism from Sassinamj?nggi and very much elevated it though in a little part of work. Then this part has high literary value on account of it.
