This study is to establish that the golf industry that could not only enhance local government’s financial independence through local taxes but promote the tourist industry through attracting foreign travellers so as to boost local economy, together with job creation, should be an alternative for growth businesses, analyzing its economic impact on Busan through regional input-output model. The result of study shows the economic impact of constructions regarding golf course in Busan City downtown is estimated to be ￦477.7 billion in production impact, 8,455 jobs in employment impact and ￦104.5 billion in income impact. Also, for tourist expenditure impact, a golf course construction is expected to create ￦1.419 trillion in production impact, 32,645 jobs in employment impact and ￦277.1 billion in income impact over 10 years. Every year, there is expected to be ￦141.9 billion in production impact, 3,265 jobs in employment and ￦27.7 billion in income. Analysis of the economic impact of a golf course construction suggests the importance of golf as a leisure activity connected with tourism and its great impact on the community.
