We examine the conflict between Husserl and Heidegger based on Heidegger's deconstruction of Husserl's phenomenology. Heidegger not only summarizes and explicates Husserl's phenomenology but also reinterprets and transforms it in a radical and creative manner. Further, he criticizes the fundamental ideas and orientations of Husserl's phenomenology as a whole. Heidegger's engagement with Husserl's phenomenology can be truly called deconstructive in that he incorporated Husserl's phenomenology to transform it and criticized it to overcome it. We conclude that there lies a differance between Husserl and Heidegger by showing that both similarities and differences are entangled in between their philosophies.
