This writing addressed the marriage between Srong-btsan-sgam-po and Princess Wencheng, which is recognized as a starting point in ‘Independence Theory’ and ‘Dependency Theory’ between Tibet and China. China's sight of analyzing this can be said to be a window that can be examined China's logic today on Southwest Project(西南工程) in Tibetan area. The following conclusions could be obtained while considering China's position, which was expressed in historical book, historic scene, and popular art about this marriage.
First, regarding the opportunity that the first marriage between Thu-bod(吐蕃) and Tang(唐) dynasty was made, China's historical book mentions that ‘due to Tang's night attack, Thu-bod felt fear, thereby having proposed a marriage while making an apology.’ This is linked to the logic that the Tang dynasty sent a princess in order to ‘conciliate’ Thu-bod, which had been emerged as the new powerful country in the 7th century, and is recognized as a starting point that the friendly relation(和親) comes to be formed due to a relation in father-in-law and son-in-law.
Second, even in the middle of historic scene and relics that are represented by Song-zhou Old Castle(松州古城) and Tang and Thu-bod Alliance Monument(唐蕃會盟碑), the analysis called 'friendly relation between two countries, which was formed owing to the father-in-law and son-in-law,' is followed literally. This supports China's Dependency Theory on Tibet based on 'hierarchy.' In other words, it is the logic that Tibet is 'One family', which can not be separated from China from the Tang dynasty.
Third, even in the play(Lhamo, Beijjing opera, Zang-xi) and drama, which are stamped deeply in people's head, with being deleted all the contents, which are disadvantageous to China, only Thu-bod is being said to have proposed marriage due to admiring Tang's brilliant culture. Namely, Thu-bod was moved finally to civilization from uncivilization by the Tang Dynasty. And, this is linked to the logic that needs to be still helped even today within China.
Did the Tang Dynasty conciliate Thu-bod while comforting or send the princess due to feeling threatened while being afraid of Thu-bod? China is asserting that Tibet is China's family and one part from the old days(from Tang Dynasty) while emphasizing only 'amity' and 'friendship' with letting numerous sacrifices including Song-zhou(松州) be buried. This is linked even to the fair ground in annexation of Tibet with saying that ‘Xi-zang(西藏) is China's territory, and the issue of Xi-zang is China's internal problem, thus the China surely needs to enter Xi-zang.’
It was not included in this writing, but the movie ??Thang-Ka?? directed by Zhang-zhi-liang(張之亮), is in the midst of being shot, which was jointly invested by China Film and CJ Entertainment. How much will this movie on earth analyze the relationship between these two races objectively? Also, how are the works on minority races in the southwest of the whole area in Yun-nan(雲南), Si-chuan(四川), Gui-zhou(貴州) except Tibet being progressed? Other than Southwest Project(西南工程) in Tibetan region and Tibetan people(藏族) in the direction of culture and art including movie, Southwest Project toward the races in the southwest is aimed to be left as the next task.
