Ancient tomb of painting of hunting is reflecting the ideology which the life is going after death which the life is firmly related with owners and Wishing continue the same life after his death. Painting of hunting is often shown in Stone of painting in China. The background that the materials from foreign culture are chosen and shown in Koguryo dynasty ancient tomb is because the ancient people are wishing resurrection and revivals in ceremony concentrated on sacrificing a deer in the shaman society as it is. The belief that, the posthumous life is only change the place and not very different with before life, is affected to the paintings. To see the consists of the mural painting, in tomb of mural, the ground owner's ideal of life continuous is expressed and in ceiling and connection part to ceiling, it expressed the sky portion.
Mainly, hermit, various kind of god such as auspicious animal, Four god, Sewoangmo(西王母) are shown in sky world of mural painting of tomb. Also the painting of hunting in PyungYang, these kind of god beings' world is described. The reason god beings are captures mainly is there is hermit ideology in Koguryo dynasty which is leaded Sewoangmo(西王母) belief. Most of the god beings in Paintings are of Sanhaegyung(『三海經』) which is the source of Sewoangmo(西王母) belief popular in China before Taoism was completed in AD5C, belief thought
Gonryunsan(崑崙山) in Sanhaegyung(『三海經』) with a thought of which it can be connect to sky through out the core of world is based on a thought of animal of world. Also the concept achieving eternal life after a taoist hermit with supernatural powers(昇仙) is the belief based with mountain adoration. Ceremony concentrated on sacrificing a deer in the shaman society has a similarity in aspect that it is wishing a resurrection and revival through sacrificed animal In Koguryo dynasty deer is often use as sacrificed animal it is because deer is the typical animal symbolizing animal of world. As the same reason, tile scene of hunting a sacrificing animals such as deer in mountain is often selected.
In the background scene of hunting of painting, there is mountains, trees and various animals. This scenery is closed to of mountains including Gonryunsan(崑崙山) appears with immortal tree and pharmaceutical materials of immortality in Sanhaegyung(『三海經』). Painting of hunting has a character of resurrection and revival as it has. And is similar to a fairly land(仙境) the place of achievement of eternal life of hermit ideology. This similarity could be a background that Painting of hunting form a portion of sky world.
It grounded that the Painting of hunting went back to the sky from Koguryosociety, the stream of Suprnatural beigs of belief(神仙信仰) was effected. Painting of hunting in sky is one of the expression of attention to the sky in AD5C Koguryo society especially in Pyungyang. The attention to sky, in other word, the 昇仙 of Suprnatural beigs of belief(神仙信仰) is also shown in owner of tomb's painting including painting of hunting, As time goes, owner of tomb desire is tum to the sky in order to a taoist hermit with supernatural powers(昇仙). However, it could not be supernatural being because it is still stay inside of tumulus.
Paintings of hunting in sky in Pyungyang area also expressed the owner hunting in the sky the same as his hunting appearance before his death. And the stream of change the place to sky is the same. Therefore, the sky painting of hunting occurred during the owner an (shown after 6C ambassador level) be sublimated to the sky. And the previous philosophy of life and death of Koguryo people changed from the idea that the world is going after death to a taoist hermit with supernatural powers(昇仙) is well expressed here, painting of hunting in sky.
Furthermore, the belief of Sewoangmo(西王母) is distributed in 5C Koguryo but the it is only shown the specific appearance in Gansintomb(龕神?) tumuluses limitedly. Also it was understood that it has difference of degree compared to Han of China which the belief of Sewoangmo(西王母) effected even to politics. Rather than the world of Sewoangmo(西王母)'s Gonryunsan, hunting was more familiar to Koguryo people and it is a fairly land(仙境) which is close to their life of hunting. In this aspect, the hunting and the painting of hunting in the sky is the the understanding of ideal world of Koguryo.
