Native Korean prefix pat- 'outside, male' of pat-satan 'father of one's childre-in-law' came from Middle Korean pask(밧ㄱ) 'outside' so it must be written '밧-/pas/'. Nevertheless all the dictionaries write '밭/path/' because the lexicographers misunderstand it for an abbreviation of 바깥/pakkath/.
Middle Korean namcin(남진) 'husband, man' came from Middle Chinese 男人/nam-nzen/; samcil(삼질) '3rd day of March' came from Middle Chinese 三日 /sam-nziet/; charye(차례) 'order' came from Old Chinese 次第/tsidiei/; mumy??(무명) 'cotten cloth' from Modem Chinese 木綿/mumien/; pint?(빈대)- of pint?-t'?k(빈대떡) 'mung-been pancake' came from mordern Korean pinca-(빈자) from Middle Chinese 餠?]/bingzhe/; s?:nmul(선물) 'a present' and s?:nsa(선사) 'to present' from Sino-Korean 膳物 and 膳賜 respectively; pus(붓) 'writing brush' and m?k(먹) 'Chinese ink' from Ancient Chinese 筆/piet/ and 墨/*muk/ respectively. Nevertheless the most of Korean dictionaries except 〈표준국어대사전〉(Great Dictionary of Standard Korean) don't discover the proper origins of these words.
And Mr Jung Jae-Do, a lexicographer of a dictionary, assert that these words are not from Chinese or Sino-Korean but are native Korean words. Therefore he insist that the Chinese characters(漢字) which show the origin of the words, should be deleted and some of them have been deleted already in 〈우리말큰사전〉(The Great Dictionary of Our Language) which he edited. The reasons such an assertion on purpose could be narrow-minded exclusive nationalism.
Distortion of word origins in dictionaries are against truth. Therefore we should reflect the result of the etymological and historial studies of Korean in dictionaries. And we must put all our efforts to keep creditable and qualified Korean dictionaries.
