In Paralled with the increasing demand for regional economic independence, the regional economic growth has emerged as a major political issue. Accordingly, regional governments have come to show much interest in tourism since the economic benefit of tourist industry is much greater than those of other industries.
The propose of this study is to suggest the prospective directions for regional economic development by developing tourist industry and other tourism-related industries. For regional economic leakage effects of tourism is in particular.
The policy implication of this study is the the local municipality should encourage industries of high linkage with industry such that indirect effect could be engendered. Development of local industries using local row materials are among the alternatives that can be considered. Of course among the alternatives, reorganization of exiting institution and financial assistance should be included.
