I first reconsider the meaning of language acquisition and mention about what the ideal state of language acquisition would be. Then, I overview the typical methods and tests applied for language acquisition researches so far and find out that most researches have investigated language accuracy and appropriateness, but very few have looked into the internal confidence of the learners. I argue that it is very important for language acquisition researchers to utilize the scale of learner’s confidence as well as language accuracy and appropriateness in their studies and also classroom language instruction, since language acquisition is involved in the three major elements ? accuracy, appropriateness and confidence.
