The paper considers the study on the maternity, which becomes the sub?discussion of feminism, and the discussion on the relationship between mother and daughter, which is in the indivisible relation with the consideration on feminism by comparing the works of women that represent Korea and Russia respectively. The maternity is the subject that penetrates works of various female writers. More over, it can be said that the description structure based on the relationship between mother and daughter is general description type of female literature because it is included in general experience type. 『Mother's Pile』written by Park Wan?Seo and 『Time,Night(время,ночь)』written by Л. Петрушевская, which are comparison targets of this paper, show the common point concerned to maternity and relationship between mother and daughter that can be bound under the name of woman although its nationality and social and cultural situation are different.
In the first chapter, author surveys the trend of analytical psychology about maternity and relationship between mother and daughter that newly appears in the recent period. It focuses on the pre?Oedipus step that is concentrated on mother and filled by mother's body, which is the previous period of Oedipus step, which is the symbolical space governed by father's 'law' and 'language'. In this way, they reconfirm the solidarity between mother and daughter formed in the pre?Oedipus space and emphasize the continuality of the step.
In the second chapter, author firstly surveys『Mother's Pile』. It is one of the representative works that select the phase of relationship between mother and daughter for important motive in plot display. The work clearly shows the change of writer's method to cope with the relationship between mother and daughter. It considers the process that relationship between mother and daughter that disregarded and isolated each other and tried problem individually while containing internal scar caused by 'external injury', war, changes to the relation that cares each other's injury after facing painful inside.
However, the consideration on the novel of Л.Петрушевская,『Time, Night(время, ночь)』points out the maternity that is different from one of Park Wan?Seo and shows the desire for the status of ‘superhuman mother(cверхматерь)’ displaying absolute right toward her children and the acute conflict with her daughter caused by it.
After showing the difference, the paper changes the attention with the contents that conflict and antagonism between mother and daughter that are appeared in two works changes to solidarity relation. It focuses on the fact that both of two works overcome 'gap process' of mother and daughter and finds their identities in pre?Oedipus, origin homosexual and primitive close relation.
In this way, it is deeply concerned to psychological emotion, which both of the maternity of sacrifice and devotion and the distorted maternity are reconsideration on maternity and morality and the ethics of carefulness and protection contained by maternity is unconditional positiveness and admiration toward life beyond woman's biological role. It concludes that absolute condition to enlarge maternal principle and sublimate maternity to general ethics is reconciliation between mother and daughter, which is to learn the way to find identity in the relation with other people.
