The purpose of this study was defining the relationship of life-time sports participation and mental health of old women, and supporting the data for upgrading the quality of life. The objects of this study were total 354 of over 65 year old woman(participated ones 181, non-participated ones 173) who are inhabited in Yeondong, G province. The method of the statistical analysis used in this study, were exploratory factory analysis, internal consistency analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis.
The result of the study is as follows. First, there is no statistical difference in hostility, psychoticism and phobic anxiety whether they are participated in life-time sports or not. However, sonetization, interpersonal sensitivity, anxiety are depression are significantly low in the participated one. It means they are mentally stable.
Second, there's no meaningly difference in sonetization, interpersonal sensitivity, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility, depression, psychoticism and phobic anxiety according to participated frequence. However, anxiety is siginificantly low in frequently participated ones. Third, there's no meaningly difference in interpersonal sensitivity, hostility and psychoticism according to participated term. However, sonetization, anxiety, depression and phobic anxiety are significantly low in long-term participated ones. Forth, sonetization, depression, and phobic anxiety are only influenced by term of participation. In addition, interpersonal sensitivity and anxiety are influenced by the frequency and term of participation.
