This thesis aims to develop the concept of the modem representation on the modem Korean poetry. The results of the investigation are summarized as the following:
Fiist, this thesis investigates that the modem representation is based on not only the distance between subject and object but also the distance between object and representative thing.
Second, it investigates that the modem representation is based on the ressemblance between object and representative thing.
Third, the paper also argues that the modem representation reveal the organic form in the poems.
Fourth, it investigates that the system of modem representation are divided several types of representation, that is, romantic-representation, mimetic-representation, iconic-representation and image-representation.
Finally, it is claimed that the modern Korean poems are made on the base of the various types of the modem representation.
