This paper analyzes the risk factors in the South Korean advance into North Korea by types of industry.
At the same time, the paper presents South Korean companies strategical suggestions regarding the recognition and the management of risk factors resulted from the entry into North Korea.
Firstly, South Korean government should give entering firms political supports for practical application.
Secondly, when South & North companies trade, there are essential for the substantial provision of export insurance and the utilization of the loss aid system from the South & North co-operation fund.
Thirdly, owing to lack of funds through South & North Korea's economic cooperation, the risk management of the companies entering North Korea becomes more needed.
Fourthly, it is essential to enlarge the members of private insurance policy on trading goods (commercial trades and trades processing on commission) between South & North Korea. To achieve that, it is also required to prepare the fundamentals of the system as well as to enhance the understanding of risk management among the companies entering North Korea.
