The main aim of this essay is to take a broad view of the relations between Northern Song Dynasty and its neighbors and think what kinds of distinct features are found among them. Although there have been lots of research about Song dynasty's foreign relations, it seems that many of them have a tendency to focus on the matter of nation(Song Dynasty) to nation relations rather than taking a focus on nation(Song Dynasty) to nations. Standing on this point of view, we can find out there are not a few 'Triangle' relations in Song's foreign relations as one of main structure forming Song's international composition. The dynamics of international relations in Northern Song period, which appeared especially in this period among Chinese dynasties, was generally occurring from those 'Triangles', Of those 'Triangles', it was 'Song(宋)-Liao(遼)-Xixia(高麗) Triangle' that was most dominant fact exerting strong influence on international relations of its time, while another important factors were 'Song(宋)-Liao(遼)-Goryo(高麗) Triangle' and 'Song(宋)-Xixia(西夏)-Tufan(土蕃) Triangle'. So, in this essay, focusing on these Three Triangles, inter-relation and its development in each 'Triangle' was analyzed, and then how the Three Triangles effected whole foreign relations of China's relations with Its Neighbors in Northern Song Period as well as each other.
