It is one of the most important preventive activities that workers who are directly exposed to the danger can have the access to the OSH related information and have the ground to participate in industrial accident preventive activities.
The purpose of this study is to figure out the gap that should be narrowed through comparing the ILO standards, the international standards, with Occupational Safety and Health Act in Korea.
This thesis contains the history and the present status of OSH related standards and recommendations, the foundation and main contents of comprehensive OSH standards, worker's OSH participation system, work suspension by workers themselves, right of refuge by workers, and international or local OSH bodies.
In conclusion, It is recognized that the worker's participation system should be established and conducted as strongly as the #155 and #161 ILO conventions. Therefore, the fundamental safety in workplaces can be come true, if the worker's participation system is strengthened more concretely.
