This paper aims to explore the issues of Korean residents in Japan through traces of their genealogy. However, less emphasis were put into political and economic background.
Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, Japanese society came to realize the significant values of Korean Japanese during the era of deterritorization, transnationalisation, and globalization. Thus, it was able to raise the consciousness of the academics, allowing them to be more outspoken in their criticisms. Studies about post-colonial Japan and the neglected class that was epitomized during the post-modern culture contributed to that of the country’s influence and status. Zainithis’s knowledge on Diaspora provides a link to the collectiveness of Asian cultural achievements. On the other hand, the study also appears to be an apparent observation of personal conflicts that exists in an individual’s search for identity considering the circumstance of living abroad. The implications are rather evident and are highly significant in analyzing Japanese and Korean’s advanced and shared culture.
