The rural community is facing a problem which is the loss of community’s function and identity. It is necessary that we find the maintenance method of sustainable rural village to solve the rural problem. As the one of methods, this study investigated the sustainability indicators at rural village level. It was considered development of the rural sustainability indicators in the relationship to sustainability indicators of national, regional and local level. Thus, the research was done on the comprehensive indicator’s development of three types (environmental, social and economic sustainability). The purpose of this research is to develop indicators for sustainable community development to apply rural villages in Korea. The Indicator development was performed three times for four months through the delphi expert survey method. As a result, rural sustainability indicators were selected 3 types, 9 domains, 21 subdomains and 116 items. This survey method was only focused on the indicator development. More research is needed on the determination of indicator’s weight and the development of evaluation monitering program to use these indicators in rural villages.
