As a Chinese female writer, Dingling's female and social consciousness played a very important role in the first half of 20th century of Chinese literature.
In this article I focused on what made the literary works of Dingling change and what were the changes. The changes had started with her effort to grasp the real love which did not come true. In addition, I examined how the association with literary and artistic personage taught her to develop and enhance the creative method in her literature.
At the first time, I found a basic similarity between the female character ‘Sophy’ and its writer Dingling. But the sudden killing of her husband brought her frustration and despair. Since then she prominently changed and decided to devote herself into revolution.
Dingling voluntarily tried to adjust herself to the social and political movement. Her original and sensitive emotion made her create a new literary world, and furthermore she rebuilt her vision of a new society. In short, this article analyzed Dingling's literary works from psychological and sociological perspectives. However, it lacks more detailed analysis of literary text of Dingling.
