In this paper, the energy harvesting technique using smart material is discussed.
This paper deals with the piezoelectric property of a actuator using the dielectric elastomer which is a kind of the electroactive polymer(EAP). The dielectric elastomer actuators are fabricated using VHB4905 film and conductive carbon grease, and the fabricated actuators are 80[㎜] × 80[㎜] × 0.023[㎜], 80[㎜] × 80[㎜] × 0.035[㎜] and 80[㎜] × 80[㎜] × 0.05[㎜], respectably.
To confirm the piezo effects of the fabricated actuators, the experiment knocking constant force in the actuator was conducted. From the experimental results, it was confirmed that the higher voltage from the more thickness is gotten. And the possibility of the energy harvesting system using EAP actuator was suggested.
