The main aim of this study is to review and analyse the radical political upheaval which has been taking place in the republic of Kyrgyzstan since last April 2010. There are two specific purposes of this study as follows. Firstly, this study is designed to examine and analyse the main reasons, procedures, and results for the political changes of Kyrgyzstan in 2010 where the strategic value of the country has been radically increasing in the international arena in terms of geo-political importance in Central Asia in the 21st century. As is well-known, it is not easy to find some relevant literature only dealing with the post-Soviet political development[changes] of Kyrgyzstan not only in Korea but also in the western world. Furthermore, it is almost impossible to find any relevant research reviewing the political upheaval which have been taking place in the republic of Kyrgyzstan in April 2010. Secondly, the study is intended to review and analyse the linkage of domestic political changes and foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan by focusing on the reaction[response] of the Russian federation. No one deny that the Russian federation is one of the most important states to the national interests of Kyrgyzstan in the post-Soviet era. Meanwhile, the Russian federation has been watching carefully what is happening in the republic of Kyrgyzstan and responding very sensitively to the results of the political changes in Kyrgyzstan. This study will not employ any particular single theory to analyse the above purposes of the research. Rather, this study pursues an multilateral approach and employs open-ended research methods.
