This study aims at examining the structure of poetical works and the aesthetic quality of Lee Yug-sa's poetry.
The poems of Lee Yug-sa have the root in the family's tradition of a Confucian scholar that is a good-natured manness. Yug-sa was a classical scholar with a strong sense of vocation and anti-Japanese resistance, considering the fact that national resistance is combined with the socialist consciousness in his poems, which seems to characterize his poetic world. The poems are mainly on the base of his fundamental belief, the classical scholarly vocation and poetic activism.
The principle of constructing Lee, Yug-sa's poetry consists of an oppositive image, and these image have poetic intention and poetic revolution. Lee, Yug-sa's poetry show aesthetic quality originated in his own belief and idea as well as poetic intention of oppositive image and abrupt poetic revolution which appeared in a text or inter texts.
