A digitally controlled CMOS programmable gain amplifier has been proposed in a 0.18㎛ CMOS technology. The PGA gain is digitally controlled by using negative feedback that adopts an R-2R ladder. To achieve high accuracy and low distortion, an op-r amp is modified by combining both a telescope-type op-amp and a single op-tamp. While this PGA has wide dynamic range as much as 77 ㏈, it shows a gain error as small as 0.3㏈.
