This study made for the first time the serial data of Busan manufacturing in the 1960s and inspected existing pre-empirical understanding.
The Made statistics show that Busan manufacturing had been in a golden age in the 1960s, especially since 1962 and its rapid growth was resulted from the mutual accelerating process such as the distribution improvement, the pursuit of higher efficiency, and the procurement of investment possibilty in potential increasing reproduction and investment increase rather than an well equipped industrial infrastructure and social overhead capital which have been recognized so far. What makes these things possible are internal advantageous factors in the l960s of Busan manufacturing such as rational expectation, high elasticity of conversion into growing sectors, pursuit of higher efficiency through competition in an advanced world market, and a win-win escalating game in production precess.
This study provides important implications to regional studies and strategies by finding internal factors of regional manufacturing which has not been considered as well as the universality of regional development.
