This article explores how makes the labor identity of migrant workers regarding with their life experiences as well as the social activities especially in case of migrant trade union. It is meaningful that the migrant trade union persist in the general labour right of migrant workers without discrimination by their various race, nation, religion, and political position. Migrant trade union plays an important role to labour identity-building.
In the result of case studies, the migrant workers who join the trade union share common experiences: first, the high-politicalized socialization process in their country of origin, second, labour problem as like accidents in the work place and the last, social relationship with ethnic community and making collective action for getting labour rights.
Migrant workers are getting high self-esteem and positioning both as a migrant and a labour class through the activities of trade union. Therefore, it can be consider that the labour identity of migrant workers constructs in the process of getting general labour rights. It is the base for the class formation. But the identity is not solid but fluid because that kind of process is effected by various levels of social and historical context.
