With the development of transportation industry, more and more large scale equipments are hauled cross highway bridge. Preventing the occurrence of bridge collapse induced by overweight vehicle became the focus concerted by whole society. In this paper, a management method about the classification according to the span and type of bridge is proposed when an overweight vehicle of ocean logistical company passed through the roadway in Guangzhou city. Based on the results of bridge structure analysis, the most dangerous bridges under overweight vehicle are selected out and retrofitted. With the risk control and disaster prevention of bridge effectively, the overweight vehicel passed through the bridges on the roadway in Guangzhou city safely and sucessfully. The methods and advices presented in this paper can be references and help for similar cases.
