The paper is to propose the new teaching method of French applying classic dramas to meet students" desire to learn. In the learning of foreign language these days, students need to improve a communication skill as the final goal of language learning but they have lost an interest in language and don"t cultivate literary knowledge by the emphasis on practical study. So this method is expected to have an effect below. First, reading lines of a play, dramatization, and verbal and non-verbal experiences through acting make the condition be able to enrich language learning because the drama is an art presenting human feelings with words and actions. Second, classic dramas, not impromptu plays, pantomimes, and one-act plays used in the existing theater in education, can be a learning tool. Through the classics, students can have the opportunities to contact pure literature and understand it. They can also establish the wider literary knowledge. Last, after the practice and experiential learning of a theatrical performance, the time of individual contents development enable students not only to understand the contents but also to give the positive effects in the aspect of improving a sense of achievement. And a play, a pure performing art, is a chance to work with cultural contents and an attempt to develop teaching method as a new area.
