This study is about analysis on contents and systems of "home-living" areas in high-school textbooks, Via the study, It was expected to giving teachers basic data for teaching and developing new textbooks. For this purpose, reference materials of 12 textbooks by 7th Curriculum were compared and analyzed on writers, contents, construction.
The results of study were as follows.
1) Textbooks writers were 28 professors(58%), 12 high school teachers(26%), 6 middle school teachers(14%) and 1(2%) an agent in Korean Consumer Agency.
2) "Construct for home-living" and "Marriage and Children care" had more contents of reference materials and activity data than other 2 chapters. Reference materials and activity data were divided evenly among all. "Actual home-living" had equal quantity of contents and different subjects of practicing.
3) Each textbook had 1~4 contents of "search for jobs" but Jihaksa and Chunjae Education had none of them. Daehan-gyogwaseo did not have "Construct for home-living" and Hyungseul publish did not hold "Actual home-living".
Through the results. the following suggestions could be proposed.
First, various specialist like researchers and educational administrators should be joined in developing text books for preventing from uncorrect and baseless contents.
Second, it is necessary for students to use reference materials and activity data which make them self-initiative study.
Third, it is important for adolescents who is future"s leaders to develop their aptitude and jobs as essential factors for nation and society. If we take the contents more related from all angles, students will choose their majors more easily.
