The purpose of this study was to retrospect and prospect of Korean language education. For this aim, this article is classified according to the following three research subjects about the Korean language education. First, Establish the identity of language education. Second, Introduce the related fields to establish the theory of Korean language education. Third, Practical Korean language education. Also, for a more detailed discussion, This article is presented in order to contribute to introduce the major contents of the each domain ‘s research about Korean language education with three items already presented.
This study was to discuss the guidelines and subjects of the study for the tasks and prospects of Korean language education. In addition, it was suggested for setting the direction which were not ‘from Korean language to Korean language education’ but ‘from Korean language education to Korean language’ and for new study tasks which were Human growth and development including the text and text thinking processes.
