This paper investigated some aspects of paragraph cognition in reading. Three hypotheses and three genres text were given in subjects of the special and general highschool.
The highest hierarchical paragraph were more highly cognized than the lowest paragraph. Also the inclusion ratio of the highest hierarchical paragraph was more high than other paragraphs in the summarization. Interrelation between hierarchical cognition of paragraph and summarizing was admitted in the subjects of high language performance level. But the high and low marks were only admitted in the general highschool subjects.
The paragraph is important unit in reading. The paper found out this point through th some hypotheses and survey. But limits of the study remain in the restrictions of subject, text genre, and representation ways of paragraph.
