Neukdo island have been existed between Southern island and Sacheon. Relics of the Neukdo island is a large-scale remain in Proto-three kingdom Era. Since ancient, a sea area near the Neukdo island has been used as an ocean route. Potteries and bronge, iorn, bone instruments, human bones from shell mounds, Oracle bones have excavated in the Neukdo island. Many elements of Chinese culture spread by sea route were transmitted to Korea and Japan.
Especially, Han-style relids and Yayoi-style pottery in the Neukdo island is from 1 B.C. to 1 A.D. and there was a sudden decline after 2 A.D. Oracle bone and coin excavated is important materials suggesting the active foreign exchange of ancient people. With these kind of atchaeological materials, it was known that the ancient people at south coastregions had the active foreign excaange with merchants of Han"s colony and had monetary system and incantatory ritul like Chinese.
When their shapes and Ondol system are considered, plain, round house found at Neukdo remains are thought to be directly introduced from the Duman River valley to Neukdo through routes. Near ar hand, there are Kraunopka-Culture remains where clay-stripe pottery is excavated.
Based on the distribution pattern of dental traits, people of south coast, the Korean Peninsula posses lineages from both a high proportion of north-east Asian population as well as south-predominent groups of east Asian populations. The phylogenetic tree showed that mtDNA sequences odd Neukdo bones relative to west Siberian and Indonesia.
