Shin Chae Ho regarded Koguryo history as a mainstream in Korean ancient history, we can find the same kind of understanding in North Korea. It is known that North Korea’s understanding of Korean ancient history is influenced by Shin Chae Ho, so I compared Shin Chae Ho and North Korea’s view of point of Koguryo history. They are similar in these points；
① They highly estimated Koguryo’s struggles with other nations, peoples which surrounded Koguryo, and its victory.
② They thought that Koguryo was a real descendant of Tangun Chosun (or Old Chosun) and interpreted Koguryo’s struggles with other nations as the fighting for getting the loosed territories of Tangun Chosun.
③ They thought that King Changsu’s southward policy as a policy for unification of Three Kingdoms.
④ They thought that Koguryo’s fighting with Sui and Tang Dynasty was the effort to protect Korean naiton.
I concluded that these similarities in views means that North Korea, which have put greater importance on the Juche Ideology since 1960s, adopted the Shin Chae Ho’s understanding of Koguryo History who was a eminent nationalist-historian in modern Korea.
