The purpose of this article is to focus on the value of houseshare by exemplifying the 4th unit of WOOZOO. Housesharing, which people share its living area with others, is a good alternative for single households. The demand for housesharing has been skyrockected among the young urban single household in Japan, Austrailia and U.K. recently and its becoming a world wide trend.
We are going to first introduce the social meaning of housesharing and how Japanese adopted this system into their daily life. Furthermore, we are going to show that this housesharing can be function as not just a living space, but also a culture sharing space in terms of their lifestyle.
For Japans case, their houseshare system started form the guesthouse for the tourists and foreigners. This guesthouse system was changed into shareshousing system now. Sharehouse in these days are more focused on for the Japanese rather than the foreigners which totaled up to 70% of all occupants last year.
At first Japanese chose sharehouse to cut down their expense on housing. But now, they started to choose sharehouse because they are very satisfied with their living with their cohabitants. Experts also suggest that the core merit of housesharing is in its communication between the cohabitants. This means that the housesharing system which started from sharing just a mere living space transformed into the living space where the occupants can share their culture and lifestyle with each other.
In Korea, WOOZOO, is the leading company in the housesharing industry. The PJTOK conducted b WOOZOO are targeting foreigners and the people who live far from Seoul. WOOZOO already have launched 7 units in Seoul since Feb, 2013.
The exemple of the 4th WOOZOO unit which is an ongoing houseshare project conducted by socialventure firm ‘PJTOK’ will be followed by. Also the interview of households who actually live there will tetify its great value.
By this article, we look forward to enhance the understanding of housesharing system for those who are interested.
