These days Share House is receiving the spotlight with the increasing concern for sharing space and the changes in the population"s structure and perception. However, there are not enough studies about Share House. So, this study’s purpose is the planning of a suitable Share House for Koreans.
The study methods used are the following: 1) defining Share House"s concept and understanding the meaning of similar house types through literature 2) finding out similarities and differences after analyzing case studies of Share House in Korea and abroad 3) understanding the overall perception and preference of Share House through a survey 4) suggesting a plan for a Share House considering the above results. The results were as follows : 1) Share House can be defined as a house type, where all households have separate space, but also share living space 2) there are some differences when it comes to sharing bathroom, specialized space, renovation, size of private space and the number of people using the private space 3) The preference survey showed that the privacy problem is the most concerning one. The preferred shared space is the fitness space and the private space includes the bedroom and bathroom. Based on the results, Share House is planned for Koreans.
