The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the transformational leadership of football coaches and the Leader′s Trust and achievement of football teams. Concretely, I set up the transformational leadership formed through contact between football coaches and players in the field as the independent variable, and the trust and achievement of team as the dependent variable. I conducted this research to investigate what the transformational leadership is and what factors compose the role. I show this in detail as follows: First, I tried to define the concept of leaders in the sports group, and tried to identify their role. Second, I tried to examine the effect of the transformational leadership on the trust and achievement of team. For this purpose, I carried out a survey with university football team players, an I collected data from September to November, 2013, for about 3 months. A total of 265 copies were collected for available samples of response, and I conducted a regression analysis using SPSS Ver. 21.
The results of this analysis are: first, as for the relationship between the transformational leadership and trust, al variables but the individual consideration, one of the subfactors, had a significant influence on trust; second, there was a significant effect relationship in the relationship between trust and team achievement. Based on this research findings, I try to deduce important implications through the further discussion on the role of coaches in the curriculum of university football team.
