The purpose of this study is to measure recognizing the frequency of concussions and to analyse potential risk factors for concussion after snowboard-related concussion safety education during snowboarding classes. Cohort prospective design was used. A total of 208 university students (F=72;M=136) participated in this research. The intervention on snowboard-related safety education was implemented for 30 minutes at the first day of snowboarding classes begin. The demographic data, knowledge of concussion before/after the Intervention, and concussion data were collected via a self-report form. The frequency of concussions and factors associated with injuries were analysed by Chi-square test. In results, 17 concussions per 100 S-E occurred during 3 nights/4 days snowboarding classes. Also, the frequency of concussions and multiple concussions were high in females than males and there was a significant difference between gender(p<.05). In conclusions, the frequency of concussions in overall and in females were high during snowboarding classes in 08/09 season. To reduce the risk of concussion frequency, more practices on appropriate falling techniques and balance training are alternative options and especially recommended for females.
