The purpose of this study is to compare the energy expenditure of different taekwon-do Poomsaes. The subject of this study is 6 male and 6 female high school students who trained taekwon-do over one year were recruited by selecting method. Through Tae Geuk 1 Jang to 8 Jang Poomsaes, using Medgraphic (V02000, U.S.A) measured the energy expenditure. By using collected data, with SPSS12.0 statistical program, it was conducted basic statistic and the different types of repeated measure ANOVA, one-way ANOVA ,and gender two-wayANOVA. The resultis as follows. First, depends on the different taekwon-do Poomsaes, there was a statistically significant different in energy expenditure(p<.001). Second, depends on gender and taekwon- do Poomsaes, energy expenditure was gradually increased and male high school students(3.41±.53) were bigger than female high school students(3.26±.53) in energy expenditure(p<.05). Based on these result, exercise intensity is low, considering Juveniles` exercise time and level of physical fitness, taekwondo can be used as aerobic exercise program.
