This study was to investigate the effect of the balancing exercise on the development of physical fitness of the elementary school students. One hundred twenty students(boy 60, girl 60) were selected from fifth grade students and divided into experimental(60) and control(60) groups. Dependent variables were sit and reach test, bridge up test, tripod balance, stork stand, and soccer ball throw as physical fitness factors. Students in the experimental group were instructed to practice hand stand for eight weeks. The results obtained from this study could be summarized as follows ; 1. There was a significant increase(p<.01) in sit and reach and bridge up test of experimental group after 8 weeks balancing exercise. 2. There was a significant increase(p<.05, .01) in tripod balance and stork stand of experimental group after 8 weeks balancing exercise. 3. There was a significant increase(p<.01) in soccer ball throw of experimental group after 8 weeks balancing exercise. In conclusion, the balancing exercise is considered effective exercise for improving children`s physical fitness and various motor performance.
