In conjunction with recent rapid growth of conventions service market, the hotel convention business became one of the most important features in the convention industry in Korea. As hotel business requires great deal of manpower to generate revenue and maintain its competitiveness it is crucial for the management to sustain a high quality control for its employees. The purpose of this study is to find the current training level of convention service in deluxe hotels in Seoul and to identify the area that needs to be improved. For this study, we have conducted literature review on the following areas; hotel convention business, service quality, employees` performance and its relationship with service training. We also conducted interviews with the employees involved with convention business in deluxe hotels in Seoul. The service training for improving employees` performance has been verified based on the interviews. The eight deluxe hotels in Seoul was measured in order to examine the current quality level of convention service training. The most appropriate training system was recommended by experts to improve employees` performance through employing the Delphi technique employing three rounds of survey efforts.
