As a hermit, Park In－lo(朴仁老) used to repeat expressions in many of his works, which were similar to idioms. Due to this, it is true that his works received low valuation regarding literary value. This research aimed at investigating the application of citation targeting 〈Nuhangsa〉 in respect that this citation is important for understanding and value assessment of his works and intended to explain the significance of it.
Application of citation in 〈Nuhangsa〉 was divided into two ways that it is used for same meanings and different meanings of existing citations. The former way of application of Citation occurred mainly because he made frequent use of that so the audience could understand that citation. The latter way, first, was utilized by defining only superficial meaning of the content, regardless of the implication. Second, it was applied by defining only superficial meaning of the content, however, it created new meaning by describing through the expatiation of the situation. Third, it was applied by presuming the existing meaning. Fourth, it applied the existing meaning, however, it was applied by changing into a new expression method.
Application of citation in 〈Nuhangsa〉 was applied by defining only superficial meaning of the content in order to become proper for the content of description of the works, regardless of the existing meaning, rather than utilizing by drawing the existing syntax structure or poetic concept. This can be said to be due to inevitable choice caused by the possession method of a song. Also, freshness appeared in the shape of poverty, which was different from the existing citation method, which was performed very exquisitely. Therefore, this research confirmed that 〈Nuhangsa〉 applied very animated and creative citation in the imagination of poverty, which can be said that it was possible because Park In－lo lived a life by personally worrying about his meal as a leisurely civil, who realized poverty, not a small landowner.
