The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of multicultural TV program on multicultural awareness, attitudes and third-person effect. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, the respondents had a little of degree of cultural diversity, relativity, openness for multicultural society. Second, the respondents thought that Korea is a multicultural society, and multicultural issues are important. Also the respondents thought that multicultural person is discriminated against multicultural society, and multicultural policy is insufficient. Third, the respondents had both positive attitude and negative attitude on multicultural person. Fourth, the degree of variation on 2 factor of awareness and 3 factor of stereotype is positively increased after TV program viewing experiment. But the degree of variation on prejudice is not significant. Fifth, the third-person effect was found by social distance on multicultural person. And the first-person effect was found by social distance on Korean other people. Sixth, there were general positive valuation on TV program message. The first-person effect were found in the respondents who have more the degree of positive valuation, and the third-person effect were found in the respondents who have less the degree of positive valuation.
