It is anticipated that ACE level would be related to antioxidant system by affecting angiotensin Ⅱ. Since there are little studies on this point, the role of polymorphism of ACE gene about oxidative stress should be identified. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to identify the relationship between polymorphism of ACE gene and antioxidant system. In order to perform this study, 39 health adults were grouped by their ACE gene, which are DD, ID andⅡ types, and performed maximal exercise. By observing SOD, MDA values at pre, post and recovery 30 minute, the adjustment effect of exercise can be studied. These results, therefore, can present the basis to the field of exercise prescription and exercise physiology. Each gene groups which were grouped by ACE gene polymorphism performed maximal exercise and their values of SOD and MDA were compared by two factors genotype and time. Based on the results of blood analysis, repeated-measures ANOVA was performed and the major results are as follows . 1)There was an interaction effect between genotypes and times in SOD. Only DD genotype showed different actions as times went when compared the rest of types. This can cause an interaction effect. 2) There was an interaction effect between genotypes and times in MDA. When DD genotype compared to the rest of genotype(ID,Ⅱ), they showed a quite different trend about times. Its value decreased at post exercise and increase at recovery 30. As a result of this conclusion. DD genotype showed different blood SOD, MDA trend as times went when compared the rest of genotype. This was considered to be caused by DD genotype`s high blood ACE level and DD ge notype needed antioxidant adaptation through regular exercise.
