This study was to investigate the effects of living low and training high on body composition, exercise performance and immune responses in cross country skiers. Seven cross country skiers(male 4, female 3) participated in this study. They usually trained 3-5 hours per day, 6 days per week through year. Blood sampled were drown from antebrachial vein before and after 4 weeks training session and were analyzed to measure creatine kinase, SOD, MDA and cortisol concentration. There were no significant different of living low training high effects in the body composition and blood lactate. However, although the live high, train low approach has been widely adopted, there were several positive training effect of train high condition group. Also there were no significant different in the blood CK, lactate and blood oxidative stress makers. In summary, the training high seems to being exposed to a hypoxia to obtain the positive and unique benefits of exercise performance physiologically in skier. These tentative conclusions await further refinement and correction in the light of further research.
