The purpose of this study is to propose alternatives on social policy and scrutinize the practical conditions of Gyeonggi Province middle school students’ leisure time at weekend and search the suggestions for leisure activities, since the enforcement of 5-days-a-week school system. For achieving this goals, the authors used the 2013 Survey on leisure activity of youth in Gyeonggi Youth Activity Promotion Center, which surveyed 780 middle school students in Gyeonggi. By sequence of this study, the following results came out. First, youth mainly participated in voluntary activity, art and culture, sports in weekend. The results demonstrated that the time for leasure increased generally after whole enforcement of 5 days a week school system. The positive change in youth were frequence of activity with family, pleasure in school life, rising opportunity of meeting friends. On the other hand, the increase of private education hindered good use of their leisure time for youth development due to strenuous academic stress. In addition, introduction of 5-days-a-week school system demonstrated various problems of youth activity. Based on this analysis, the suggestion of authors include collaboration of school and youth activity agency, family-oriented youth activity, and maximization of agency for youth developing of creative youth activity.
